- Lead the commercial team in the northern region, overseeing all procurement and quantity surveying activities.
- Ensures that all commercial activities within the region are performed in the most effective and efficient manner, sets targets for the team members and provides the necessary coaching to further optimize performance.
- Develop and implement commercial strategies that align with the company’s overall objectives.
- Manage the procurement process, including tendering, contract negotiation, and supplier management.
- Ensure accurate and timely cost reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Oversee the preparation of bills of quantities, valuations, and final accounts.
- Manage commercial risks and opportunities, ensuring that all projects are delivered within budget and to the highest standards.
- Evaluate whether the company has sufficient resources to support its growth and make recommendations accordingly.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
- Provide commercial advice and support to project teams, ensuring compliance with contractual and legal requirements.
- Lead the resolution of commercial disputes and claims.
- Mentor and develop junior commercial staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
- Accountable for the quality, safety, health and environmental management and performance of the department.
- Degree/ Diploma in Quantity Surveying/ Construction Management or equivalent;
- At least 15 years working experience in the construction industry with direct involvement in commercial management;
- Familiar with engineering cost and industry standards;
- Familiar with contract risks;
- Proven track record of managing large-scale construction projects;
- A proactive, dynamic leader and team player with good analytical, problem solving, communication and interpersonal skills;
- Ability to interact and communicate well with peers and senior management and other stakeholders.
